Harry Coates of Wharfedale not only won this race, but he won it by such a margin that he had the time to pick up his daughter and carry her over the line. The ladies race was won by U21 runner Helen Thornhill of Ribble Valley. The Barlickers finished as follows:
13 David Pease 32:16
34 Emma Pease 38:18
35 Laura Craig 38:44

This was the Inaugural Tolkien Trail Race starting at Stonyhurst College in Hurst Green. The heavens opened just before the start and everyone got a right soaking. It was described as great trail racing over varied terrain. Jonathan Cleaver had a great run to finish 3rd behind Tom Adams of Ilkley & Ben Fish of Blackburn.

Uphill out and downhill back, so not really a course where you would expect to achieve a PB. Nevertheless, it was a pretty impressive performance from race winner Ben Fish of Blackburn. The rest of the field, led by Jonathan Cleaver gave chase, but could not close the gap he had built up
