Just two Barlickers out at this race, which is a tough one, but has a good route. John Boothman managed to go astray and it seems that in true fell running style, so did plenty of others.
19 Craig Storozuk 2:55:57
24 John Boothman 3:12:57
The title is short for the Courmayeur, Champex-Lac, Chamonix race and it covers 101 km with 6,100 meters of ascent. Converting this to English money, it is just over 60 miles in length with over 20,000 feet of ascent - a daunting challenge for anyone. A lot did not make it. 2132 started and over 550 dropped out, with 1578 finishers.
There was no dropping out for Gary Bradley. His race went well and he finished in 466th place in 19hrs, 43mins which was inside his target time of under 20 hrs. Quite an achievement.
A race report from Gary follows
This race is an undulating 20 mile race, with 1000 ft of ascent, mainly on country lanes. There are a couple of climbs in it which are challenging, but they are not too long, which makes this race excellent preparation for a marathon.
When taking part in this race, both Jon Cleaver and Luke Turner had their sights set firmly on the Berlin Marathon in four week's time. Next week, they are hoping to retain the Yorkshireman Pairs Title before they begin tapering.

The U14s & U17s run together and a brilliant run by Jacob Reeday saw him finish closely behind Jack Villiers to take the U14 title. In the U12 girls race, Lucille Pickles trounced the opposition to easily run out race winner, with Isobelle Teal securing third place.

It was a remarkable win in the ladies race by Emma Hopkinson of Wharfedale, as it was only at the weekend that she completed the Bob Graham Round. Second in the men's race was Joe Hudson of Keighley & Craven. He is the son of Rob Hudson who, in his day, dominated the BOFRA races. It is interesting too to see that his other son, Louis Hudson, won the U17 race. It looks as though fell running is in the Hudson blood.
The Barlickers finished as follows:
8 Luke Maude 9:02
24 Tim Chadwick 10:11
