Membership fees

Despite the name, the club participates in all disciplines of running, fell, cross country and road and welcomes applications from runners of all abilities to join us. If you are not sure if the club is for you, why not come to one of our training sessions or one of our regular pub runs. You will be under no obligation to join, but you will get a feel for the club and a better idea if the club is for you. You can merely turn up to a training session unannounced, but it would be better if you contacted our club secretary first (details on the contacts page) and let him know that you will be coming and he will make sure that whoever is leading the group will look out for you. If you are an absolute beginner to running, you too are most welcome to join us in one of our sessions, but please contact our secretary first and he will make sure that you will have a programme with which you are comfortable. This race was from Wooler to Melrose on the Scottish border, climbing 6,200ft, in temperatures up to 27 degrees with no breeze. Thunderstorm 5 miles from the finish was refreshing but made the terrain difficult, as it was then very muddy clay banking to descend into Melrose.

It is great to see the parents of our juniors taking part in the senior races and like everything else in life, the more you do of something, the better you get.  And some of these parents are definitely getting into this fell running.

And what a great family day out this makes.

37 Tony Duffy 48:57

Lorraine Slater and Emma Taylor took part in this race in very hot and humid conditions. It was so tough, far worse than last year as the times show.

12 Lorraine Slater (2nd lady, 1st F40)
21 Emma Taylor (3rd lady)

This race is a bit of a favourite for Richard Treitl and this year he was the only Barlicker there.

59 Richard Treitl 35:26

Four Barlickers took on this race which is used by many as a practice for the main race in 3 weeks time. The race sets off at 7pm and you go straight to the top of the Llanberis pass where the finish is at the summit and get greeted with the best views the UK has to offer.   An absolute treat of a race.
