This was the third consecutive run out in this race for Tim Chadwick. He had an enjoyable day out and got a PB for this particular race although not for a half marathon distance.

When you see the name Addison amongst the entries, you know that there is going to be some tough competition at the front of the field. Once more it proved to be the case. Last year the race was won by Mark Addison and this year, it was previous winner,. Tom Addison, who took the honours. He was chased home by Tom Corrigan who is gradually returning to his previous fine form after recovering from injury.
In the ladies race, the name Katie Walshaw was amongst the entries and the conjecture was whether a new ladies record would be set. As you would expect, Katie had a good run to win the race comfortably by four minutes. but perhaps she needed a bit more pressure during the race to challenge the very fast time set by Victoria Wilkinson eleven years ago. Nevertheless, it was still a great performance from Katie. Behind Katie, Rachel Villiers put in a great effort to finish first W35 and second overall.
In the junior race, Jack Villiers showed a clean pair of heels to most of the seniors, finishing in a remarkable nineteenth position overall. Behind him.Josh Hall and Sam Thom were battling out with each other and they finished in thirty second and thirty fourth position respectively, with only two seconds separating them. The first junior girl was Isobel Hartley of Trawden.
With three finishers in the top ten Barlick won the men's team prize with Clayton taking the ladies' team prize.

This is another of those classic fell races. Tim Chadwick was our only representative there and he finished in a respectable 34th place. The evergreen Ian Holmes was the comfortable race winner in a time of 1:15:22.

This has been one of the classic races in the fell running calendar and it is good that some of our younger runners have been able to experience it before its demise. This race was held each year to commemorate the wedding of Wynn and Steve Cliff at Newlands Valley church on Saturday 20th April 1996. Sadly this year, Steve passed away passed away with motor neurone disease MND on 11th January. As a result, this will be the last time that this race is ever held. However, over the years, this race has been a great spectacle and has provided some great memories for both the participants and spectators alike.
