Membership fees

Despite the name, the club participates in all disciplines of running, fell, cross country and road and welcomes applications from runners of all abilities to join us. If you are not sure if the club is for you, why not come to one of our training sessions or one of our regular pub runs. You will be under no obligation to join, but you will get a feel for the club and a better idea if the club is for you. You can merely turn up to a training session unannounced, but it would be better if you contacted our club secretary first (details on the contacts page) and let him know that you will be coming and he will make sure that whoever is leading the group will look out for you. If you are an absolute beginner to running, you too are most welcome to join us in one of our sessions, but please contact our secretary first and he will make sure that you will have a programme with which you are comfortable. A great run by Victoria Peel saw her take 3rd place in this race.

17 Tim Chadwick 10:16
25 Nicholas Kendall 10:46
43 John Boothman 11:47

It was a thrilling race to the line between Chris Dunkerley & Virgil Barton, with Chris just shading it in the end.

39 Virgil Barton 19:04

62 Tony Duffy 26:01

Sadly, the sports afternoon was poorly attended - the weather obviously putting off many visitors.  However, that didn't spoil the event.  Those who did attend weren't bothered about a bit of the wet stuff and thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

The Senior race had just six runners, with an U17 joining them.  Kristian Clayton chose to make his fell racing debut in this race and he certainly picked a tough little one for a starter.

The full senior results were:

1 Jonny Bradshaw, Wharfedale Harriers, 16:01
2 Tom Millard, Wharfedale Harriers, 16:02
3 Declan Bulmer, Wharfedale Harriers, 17:45
4 John Boothman, Barlick, 21:00
5 Sue Marshall, Skipton, 22:56
6 Kristian Clayton, Barlick, 44:45

28 Emma Taylor 1:22:09 (3rd lady)

6 Tim Chadwick 21:00
17 John Boothman 24:06 (2nd M50)

The second race of the day for Virgil after a cracking run in the Road Race.

5 David Mirifield 15:24
13 David Poole 16:58
34 Virgil Barton 19:56
105 Richard Treitl 28:08

What a run from Virgil Barton to finish in 6th place.
