Membership fees

Despite the name, the club participates in all disciplines of running, fell, cross country and road and welcomes applications from runners of all abilities to join us. If you are not sure if the club is for you, why not come to one of our training sessions or one of our regular pub runs. You will be under no obligation to join, but you will get a feel for the club and a better idea if the club is for you. You can merely turn up to a training session unannounced, but it would be better if you contacted our club secretary first (details on the contacts page) and let him know that you will be coming and he will make sure that whoever is leading the group will look out for you. If you are an absolute beginner to running, you too are most welcome to join us in one of our sessions, but please contact our secretary first and he will make sure that you will have a programme with which you are comfortable. Tom Corrigan is on fire at the moment and he showed it tonight by storming to a win in this race ahead of two other pretty good runners, none other than Matt Lalor and Julian Hood.  This one, two three, with five runners in the top ten, gave the club the team prize.

In the ladies race, Sarah Tipler continues her recovery following her operation and she finished second lady on the night.  This performance along with that of Angela Donlan and Jennifer Hird was enough to secure the team prize for the ladies too.

Since joining Barlick only a short while ago, the record of under 16 runner Josh Boyle has been remarkable.  He naturally won the junior race at Malham against youngsters of a similar age.  His other four races were against senior runners where his record is two firsts and two seconds.

His latest win was in this race, where he managed to push talented Clayton runner Danny Collinge into second place.  These two finished ahead of Ben Coop of Bury, who was in 3rd place.

It was also a good night for Lorraine Slater who is showing signs that she is recovering from her injury at Ilkley, by finishing 1st woman in this race .

1 Josh Boyle 31:19
45 Lorraine Slater 42:31 (1st woman)
53 Rachel Lowther 44:32 (1st LV40)

92 finishers.

Three Barlick ladies turned out for this race.  It was a warm one, but a good route and a great atmosphere.  Emma Bailey got 3rd lady and a PB for the course.  Karen & Rachel were happy with their times too.

21 Emma Bailey 21:10
27 Karen Brindle 21:49
32 Rachel Villiers 22:36
