Membership fees

Despite the name, the club participates in all disciplines of running, fell, cross country and road and welcomes applications from runners of all abilities to join us. If you are not sure if the club is for you, why not come to one of our training sessions or one of our regular pub runs. You will be under no obligation to join, but you will get a feel for the club and a better idea if the club is for you. You can merely turn up to a training session unannounced, but it would be better if you contacted our club secretary first (details on the contacts page) and let him know that you will be coming and he will make sure that whoever is leading the group will look out for you. If you are an absolute beginner to running, you too are most welcome to join us in one of our sessions, but please contact our secretary first and he will make sure that you will have a programme with which you are comfortable. Membership fees for the club are as follows:

Barlick had three teams in these relays.  Two conventional teams and what was supposed to be a family team, but it was registered as a mixed team.  The details are:

A Team Pos    Time
Andy Berry 17 11:24
Michael Keegan     21 11:16
Rob Weir 21

10:58

B Team Pos    Time
Simon Kelly 33 11:51
Andrew Carson      22 11:16
Scott Baistow 25 12:01

Mixed Team         Pos    Time
Sam Wadsworth 13 10:34
Fiona Brotherton 75 19:52
Sam Wadsworth 61 10:26

In 1999, on the old course, Sam Wadsworth won the egg stage in 3:26, only 4 seconds outside the record. Inspired by memories of former glories, he started at a furious pace, hoping that once more, he might do well in this part of the race. Going up the hill, he was second behind Tom Adams of Ilkley, but from there on, his advancing years and lack of training gradually took their toll. The mad dash at the start took too much out of him and his overall race time was down. However, further down the field, Fiona Brotherton continues to improve with each race.

49 Sam Wadsworth 18:43
308 Fiona Brotherton 34:31

About Us

Written by

The club was formed in December 2012 as a fell running club, but now also competes successfully in all running disciplines - Road, Cross Country, Fell and Trail. There is a strong spirit of inclusiveness and friendship within the club.

The club welcomes new members. You do not have to be a top runner to join the club. The existing membership covers a whole range of abilities, from those who like to compete at the top level, those who merely like to enjoy the experience of running, to those who are completely new to the sport.

So, whatever your level, you will always find a place in the club, whether it is going out with others of similar ability or joining one of our many training sessions, if you want to push your running to a higher level. And you will always find members in the club who will be happy to pass on their knowledge or offer you advice.

In addition, the club now has a large junior section which encourages participation in the sport by youngsters. You will find details of our junior activities in the Junior Web Site.

If you are interested in the joining the club, you will find an application form on our Membership Page.
