Lucky that this was on the Saturday and not the Sunday, as it certainly would have lived up to its name. Just eight Barlickers in for the first club championship race of the year.

This is a tough race which always attracts a quality field, so it was a good performance from Stuart Heavside to secure a top twenty finish.

Three Barlickers took part in this race which was held in pretty horrendous conditions. It was brutal - very boggy underfoot and so windy, especially on Pendle. However, when the going gets tough, the tough get going and Lorraine Slater is one tough lady and she finished 7th overall and first lady. Quite some achievement in those conditions.

This event takes place in the Lake District in Grizedale Forest over varied terrain, but lots of forest tracks. It is described as undulating, but whatever it is, it is not flat, but the participants are rewarded with some beautiful views. Two Barlickers took part and put on a good show, both securing a top ten finish out of 166 finishers and quite a few DNFs.
