Membership fees

Despite the name, the club participates in all disciplines of running, fell, cross country and road and welcomes applications from runners of all abilities to join us. If you are not sure if the club is for you, why not come to one of our training sessions or one of our regular pub runs. You will be under no obligation to join, but you will get a feel for the club and a better idea if the club is for you. You can merely turn up to a training session unannounced, but it would be better if you contacted our club secretary first (details on the contacts page) and let him know that you will be coming and he will make sure that whoever is leading the group will look out for you. If you are an absolute beginner to running, you too are most welcome to join us in one of our sessions, but please contact our secretary first and he will make sure that you will have a programme with which you are comfortable. Boulsworth Junior Races - 12 August 2018

Bearing in mind that we are in the middle of the holiday season, there was a good turn out of juniors for these races and some good results too.  The Pickles family did really well coming away with three firsts.  Jack Villiers also took a first place and Alex Mason was unfortunate to miss out on a first place by just one second.  There were also podium finishes for Bella McCredie, Ciara Duffy and Oscar Clayton.

A good turn out of Barlickers for this race.  Joe Dale of Victoria Park Harriers put on a terrific performance to win the race by one and a half minutes.  There were some great performances from the Barlick runners and with four finishers in the top ten, we would have taken the team price, had there been one.

Jacqueline Collins came third in the ladies race and had she not tripped at the finish line, might have finished second.  The were several category prizes for the Barlickers with Andy Berry - 1st M40, Lucas Payne  - 1st M45, Paula Cullen - 1st W40 and Jean Rawlinson - 1st W60.  All in all, a good day out and as a bonus, the rain held off.  Also thanks to Trawden for putting on a well organised, and as always, a friendly event.

3 Andy Berry 18:24 New PB
5 Lucas Payne 19:13
65 Kathryn Payne 25:27 New PB

9 Nicolas Kendall 28:17

This is a lovely race.  It is six miles, but it is quite hard, not because there are any steep hills in it, but because there aren't.    Once you set off, you have to keep running over the 1,100 ft of ascent..

It attracted 192 runners but sadly only one Barlicker - James Austin.  The winner was Luke Turner of Clayton in a time of 40:05.  James put on a good show and finished:

26 James Austin 45:17

Congratulations to Rossendale for putting on a well organised race and for getting the results out so quickly.
