John Boothman was going to run in the East Lancs 10K, but when this was called off due to the weather, he went over to Haworth for this race. Again due to the weather, the course was changed to that of the Stoop. John had a decent run, finishing in 96th position in a time of 44:52. The winner was Tom Adams of Ilkley in 36:06, ahead of Simon Bailey and Ian Holmes.
Ian Livesey had a great start to the New Year by winning the Central Lancashire Half Marathon and he followed it up today with another cracking run, another win and another PB.
He won in a time of 1:11:50 knocking 56 seconds off his previous PB as well as showing a clean pair of heels to decent runners, Rob Danson, 2nd, Rob Affleck 3rd and Shaun Livesey 4th.
Michael Thistletwaite did the the 15 mile version of this event and finished in 15th position in a time of 3:07.

It was a blustery day for this race, although much of the route was surprisingly sheltered and as the rain held off, it made it an enjoyable race. John Boothman once more took part and he finished in 103rd position, in a time of 43:17. This compares to his PB of 42:00 last year and it seems that the weather and to much good living over Christmas took its toll.
A bit behind the times with this one, but the results have only just become available. Our sole member out on the fells on the first day of the New Year was Richard Treitl, who finished 115 out of 150 entrants in a time of 29:36.
The main aims of the club are to increase the participation of running in Barnoldswick and to keep organised running as accessible as possible.
