Membership fees

Despite the name, the club participates in all disciplines of running, fell, cross country and road and welcomes applications from runners of all abilities to join us. If you are not sure if the club is for you, why not come to one of our training sessions or one of our regular pub runs. You will be under no obligation to join, but you will get a feel for the club and a better idea if the club is for you. You can merely turn up to a training session unannounced, but it would be better if you contacted our club secretary first (details on the contacts page) and let him know that you will be coming and he will make sure that whoever is leading the group will look out for you. If you are an absolute beginner to running, you too are most welcome to join us in one of our sessions, but please contact our secretary first and he will make sure that you will have a programme with which you are comfortable. Harley Treitl ran in the BOFRA race at Kettlewell and then came home and ran in this race.  He finished in 10th place (out of 24) in 13:19 which is not bad to say that the was the only 7 year old.  Georgia Treitl also ran, finishing 19th in 16:25.

Well done to all the Barlickers who turned out for this race.  With grateful thanks to Andy Holden, above are pictures of  everyone who took part.

Apologies for delay in posting this one.  Andy Hirst is renown for his long runs in the Lakes.  However, here is his account of a more local long distance trek.

Magnificent 7

Matt Lalor Race Winner

For the second week running, Matt Lalor notched up a win, making 3 first places for Barlick this weekend.  Matt did well, as for the first 5K he was running into a strong headwind. Not only that, but he finished two and a half minutes in front of second place Richard Farrar of Wirral AC

This is a really good fell race route (just over 10km) which goes a short distance uphill on a track then joins the moorland and pathways for a long ascent to the top of Whittle Hill.  This is followed by a good long descent, but a sting in the tail is a very steep late ascent about a mile from the end which calls for some deep digging.  Then it is a blast down the track to the finish at the cricket club where there is good catering and bar in the pavilion.
