The Barlick lads had a cracking run finishing 15th overall on their 12 stage debut.
On the 1st leg Gaz Shaw got the boys off to a solid start. Leg 2 saw Jimmy Craig drag the team up to 26th overall with a great run. Chris Singleton on leg 3 had the run of the day pulling back 6 places. Leg 4 saw Andrew Carson pull another place back. Leg 5 and Julian Hood lost a place with a solid run putting Barlick in 20th overall. Lucas Payne had a great run and consolidated 20th place. Ian Livesey then took centre stage against Ben Fish but lost 2 places in very stiff competition. Nick Treitl soon grabbed a place back bringing the team back into 21st on the next leg. Chris Smale also pulled a place back to bring Barlick back into the top 20 on leg 9. Shaun Chew then pulled back another place to 19th. Tom Corrigan had a storming leg pulling back another 3 places and Steve Chew pulled another back on the last leg leaving the lads in 15th overall and qualifying the team for the national road relays in the process.
Not bad for to say the club has only entered 2 road relays. Brilliant effort from the whole team.

Mark Nutter, not to be confused with our long time friend and stalwart of fell running from Clayton, is a relatively new member of BFR. He wore his vest for the first time in this event and he commented on it as follow:
I really enjoyed this morning's little outing and got round the 13.1 miles in 1:57:45 and was really pleased to get under the two hours. I was 2067 overall and 133rd in the over 45's. I didn't quite realise just how hilly the course would be as it has lots of pretty steep hills, primarily it felt like a down hill trend to Wembley and the half way point but then mainly up hill back to the Saracens ground where miles 11 and 12 were both a bit of a killer. Couldn't help but compare it to the GNR where there are mainly only two long killer drags over the course that last for a couple of miles each. Today was tough, but I think I did prefer it to the GNR!

Matt Lalor finished 3rd, picking up the Lancashire 10 mile bronze medal and also a pb of 54 mins. Gold went to Dave Rigby of Preston Harriers and silver to James Kevan of Horwich.
The race was won by Chris Singleton of Trawden in 4:09:10

A good turnout of Barlickers at this run with Barlick vests on the race winner and first lady. There were PBs for both of our junior runners, in fact, the only Barlickers without a PB were first timers.
