Whilst everyone in the club seemed to be anticipating the Calderdale Way Relay, Tim Piggott was making his way, along with Karl Zeiner, up three of the highest peaks in the Lake District. The total ascent is 3050 metres and the distance separating them is 59 kilometres.
They finished in 61 position in a time of 9:52:28

Two intrepid Barlickers made the journey to Austwick to take on this fell race. Nick Charlesworth of Wharfedale won the race by 4 seconds from Chris Singleton. Mick Keegan came 40th and Jack Ingham was 135th out of the 169 that ran.
The winner of this race was Simon Bailey who came home in 15:35. A top ten finish however, for Chris Smale who finished in 10th position in a time of 18:31
Jean Rawlinson was our only representative in this race. She naturally won her category and was 59th overall out of 79 runners.

It was good to see the usual pub runners out tonight, plus a few more, taking part in this race. On the way to the top, Matt Lockyer of Pudsey & Bramley was leading, but Luke Maude was hot on his tail. When they had completed the loop and returned to the Pinnacle, the situation was the same and everyone thought that Luke was playing a tactical game. However, as things turned out Matt, managed to hold on to the lead and he ran out the race winner, in front of Luke. Behind this leading pair, Stephen Chew was putting in a solid performance and he retained the third place which had secured on the ascent right until the finish. Not that far behind, was Stephen's brother Shaun and to complete the top ten finishers, was Carl Pawson.
Lorraine Slater dominated the ladies race. She took the lead on the way up and with her usual gritty determination, there was no way that she was going to relinquish that lead. She said after the finish that she did not look back at who was chasing her, but her lead at the end was comfortable. It was also nice to see Rachel Lowther racing, even though in the Calder Valley, she had been nursing a shoulder injury. It was also nice to see so many Barlick shirts out and to see five of them in the top ten. The results are:
1 Matt Lockyer 26:05
2 Luke Maude 26:19
3 Stephen Chew 26:48
6 Shaun Chew 27:56
10 Carl Pawson 29:19
18 Andrew Driver 30:28
20 Mick Keegan 30:50
24 "Fat" Jock Boothman 31:57
26 Lorraine Slater 32:08 (1st Lady)
30 Des Walkden 32:30

57 Rachel Lowther 35:34 (6th Lady)
