This race has altered slightly from what it used to be. It now starts on the road by the car park in front of the dam. The course over the tops has changed slightly and towards the finish, it now takes the long way around the res.
Early on in the race, the young whippet, Joseph Ormrod from Rossendale Harriers took the lead and from that point onwards, he looked unassailable and in the end, he ran out an easy winner. On the way out, Tom Corrigan and Craig Shearer were running together, but on the climb, they were split up by Adam Whale of Clayton and they finished 2nd and 4th respectively.
In the ladies race, Laura Hesketh took the honours with our leading girls finishing 4th & 5th and Lisa Gee had a great run to finish in the top half of the table.
All the Barlickers ran well tonight and hopefully, it augurs well for the coming weekend.

These two races were dominated by runners from Skipton AC and Nidd Valley who both appear to have made it a club championship race.
The short race was surprisingly won by Robert Cranham who is supposed to be taking it steady because of injury.
In the long race, Skipton dominated the top ten places, with Julian Hood taking first place. Stephen Shorrock had a good run to finish second and Paul "Crabby" Crabtree finished third representing his new club, Trawden. David Pease had a good run to take a top ten place and Carl Nevison put in another good performance in two days to take 12th place. The ever present Andrew Smith took yet another M60 1st place.
In the ladies race, Jacqueline Collins, in her second race in two days, came home in 4th place and a very tired looking Nicola Muller finished in 8th place.

It was a pleasant sunny evening for this race, maybe a bit too warm for ideal running conditions, but it nevertheless attracted 218 entrants.
The race was easily won by Chris Holdsworth who built up a good lead on the ascent and he ran out an easy winner. He was followed home by Tom Corrigan, running his second race in two days and he too had a comfortable lead over third placed Adam Wale. With four runners in the top ten, Barlick easily won the team prize.
In the ladies race, Laura Hesketh had a long lead over the chasing pack and took the honours without any difficulty. It was good to see Jacqueline Collins get rewarded for all her recent hard work by taking third place and she was closely followed home by Lucy Brown. Rossendale won the team prize.

The pub run will be from the Red Lion at Earby. Be there for a 7:00 pm start.
For anyone who fancies racing, the Lothersdale Fell Race takes place on the same evening with a start time of 7:15 pm.
Good to see some juniors out racing and they finished as follows:

5 Jude Mirfield 2:31
U11
9 Theo Mirfield 12:07
13 Bradley Robinson 14:10
It was a very pleasant day out on the fells, although maybe a bit warm for the runners. The race was won by Oli Murphy who built up an early lead and never looked under threat even though there were good runners in his wake. Leading Barlick home was David Mirfield with a top five finish followed by Ian Cocks who just got pipped to a top ten place.
Again our girls put on a good show taking positions 3,4,5 in the ladies race.
It was nice to see the club having some runners in the junior races and their details can be found on the Junior Website
