Sorry for the delay with this one, but the results have only just been published. Tim Piggot once again entered this 36 mile race with 10,000 ft of climbing. This year he ran it with Tim Couldwell and they completed it in 10:57:44., finishing in 79th position out of 110 starters.
Ted Mason won the race. Only two Barlickers there, but a top ten finish for Andrew Chew and 2nd LV40 for Lorraine Slater.

Due to many choosing not to go up to Blencathra on Wednesday there will be a pub run up Penyghent instead. Meeting at 7pm from the first lay-by just before the Golden Lion Pub and then heading up the race route. We shall then meet in the Talbot in Settle afterwards for a few drinks.
Another fine win for Tom Adams of Ilkley who set a new course record of 38:44 and finished over two minutes in front of 2nd place Matthew John.

The next race in the BOFRA calendar was Coniston Gullies. Jimmy Craig once again put in a strong performance but had to settle for second behind another top class runner Simon Bailey with Chris Edis 3rd.
Richard Lowther also took part, wearing a Barlick vest for a change, and this must have inspired him to get running and finish in front of his sister Kirsty.
2 Jimmy Craig 14:40
15 Richard Lowther 18:02
1 Jacob Boyle 18.19
This trial took place in Winlatter Forest in the Lake District in which the top young under 18 athletes from all over the UK took part. Young Josh Boyle had a good race to finish in third place and hopefully, this will be good enough to see him earn a Great Britain vest to run in the Arco International Race in Italy in July. The results of the deliberations of the selectors will be know in about a weeks's time, so in the meantime, it is fingers crossed for Josh.

Tom Corrigan is on fire at the moment and he showed it tonight by storming to a win in this race ahead of two other pretty good runners, none other than Matt Lalor and Julian Hood. This one, two three, with five runners in the top ten, gave the club the team prize.
In the ladies race, Sarah Tipler continues her recovery following her operation and she finished second lady on the night. This performance along with that of Angela Donlan and Jennifer Hird was enough to secure the team prize for the ladies too.

Since joining Barlick only a short while ago, the record of under 16 runner Josh Boyle has been remarkable. He naturally won the junior race at Malham against youngsters of a similar age. His other four races were against senior runners where his record is two firsts and two seconds.
His latest win was in this race, where he managed to push talented Clayton runner Danny Collinge into second place. These two finished ahead of Ben Coop of Bury, who was in 3rd place.
It was also a good night for Lorraine Slater who is showing signs that she is recovering from her injury at Ilkley, by finishing 1st woman in this race .
1 Josh Boyle 31:19
45 Lorraine Slater 42:31 (1st woman)
53 Rachel Lowther 44:32 (1st LV40)

Three Barlick ladies turned out for this race. It was a warm one, but a good route and a great atmosphere. Emma Bailey got 3rd lady and a PB for the course. Karen & Rachel were happy with their times too.

The main aims of the club are to increase the participation of running in Barnoldswick and to keep organised running as accessible as possible.
