It was good to see two of our juniors out in these championship races, gaining very valuable race experience. George Fitzpatrick was out in the under 11 race and Jack Villiers ran in the U15 race where he finished in 10th position. As a result, he will be getting a letter to stand by as a reserve to represent Lancashire in the Inter County Championship and he will get a place if others have to drop out.
They finished as follows:
U11 Boys
47 George Fitzpatrick 7:56
U15 Boys
10 Jack Villiers 13:39
Jack Villiers started the New Year in style by going off and testing himself in a senior fell race. And what a great performance he put in too, finishing in 28th position out of a field of 153. In fell running, every race is different and the first time you have a go at a race, you never run it as well as you could have done, as you are learning the course. Expect an even higher place from Jack if he has another go at this race next year.

The main aims of the club are to increase the participation of running in Barnoldswick and to keep organised running as accessible as possible.
