Membership fees

Despite the name, the club participates in all disciplines of running, fell, cross country and road and welcomes applications from runners of all abilities to join us. If you are not sure if the club is for you, why not come to one of our training sessions or one of our regular pub runs. You will be under no obligation to join, but you will get a feel for the club and a better idea if the club is for you. You can merely turn up to a training session unannounced, but it would be better if you contacted our club secretary first (details on the contacts page) and let him know that you will be coming and he will make sure that whoever is leading the group will look out for you. If you are an absolute beginner to running, you too are most welcome to join us in one of our sessions, but please contact our secretary first and he will make sure that you will have a programme with which you are comfortable. Mid Lancs Cross Country, Burnley - 13 January 2018

It was good weather for this race and although it was a bit muddy in places, it was much less muddy than usual.  The men's race was marked by Tom Corrigan's return to Cross Country running and in the ladies race another top class performance by Sarah Jarvis saw finish in third place and first LV35.

A terrific performance by Emily Japp saw her take a comfortable win for Blackpool in the ladies race.  She was followed home by the young Tiffany Penfold of Liverpool and another great performance by our own Sarah Jarvis saw her come home in third place and 1st V35.  Rachel Villiers was looking a lot more comfortable than last week at Witton Park and she booked a top ten place and 2nd V35.  Our third first team counter was Lorraine Slater who was definitely one degree under before the race, but as always, once she puts her foot on the starting line, you can always rely on Lorraine to put in a doughty performance.  Another runner, in a similar vein is Jacqueline Collins, who finished just a couple of place behind Lorraine.  Barlick were third team overall and first V35 team.  The ladies B team was a remarkable 8th team overall.

Tom Corrigan dominated the men's race for Barlick, but as always, Craig Shearer is a tough competitor and throughout the race had Tom in his sights and finished just a couple of places behind him.  Marc Hartley was the last top twenty finisher for Barlick.  During the race, we lost two of our runners.  Lucas Payne had to drop out with a hamstring injury and Chris Smale had to drop out with a back problem.
