Membership fees

Despite the name, the club participates in all disciplines of running, fell, cross country and road and welcomes applications from runners of all abilities to join us. If you are not sure if the club is for you, why not come to one of our training sessions or one of our regular pub runs. You will be under no obligation to join, but you will get a feel for the club and a better idea if the club is for you. You can merely turn up to a training session unannounced, but it would be better if you contacted our club secretary first (details on the contacts page) and let him know that you will be coming and he will make sure that whoever is leading the group will look out for you. If you are an absolute beginner to running, you too are most welcome to join us in one of our sessions, but please contact our secretary first and he will make sure that you will have a programme with which you are comfortable. This is a lovely race.  It is six miles, but it is quite hard, not because there are any steep hills in it, but because there aren't.    Once you set off, you have to keep running over the 1,100 ft of ascent..

It attracted 192 runners but sadly only one Barlicker - James Austin.  The winner was Luke Turner of Clayton in a time of 40:05.  James put on a good show and finished:

26 James Austin 45:17

Congratulations to Rossendale for putting on a well organised race and for getting the results out so quickly.

114 Nicola Muller 1:10:13
119 Eleanor Moore 1:11:32
120 Susan Hird 1:12:06 (1st W60)

This is a nice little 8.8 mile race with 1099 ft of ascent  and well worth travelling over for.

The race was won by Harry Coates who is a former world triathlon champion and, on the day, he destroyed the opposition, coming home over two minutes ahead of the rest of the field.  However, leading that following pack was young and coming runner U17 runner, Eric Beaumont of Keighley & Craven.

The first lady home was another promising up and coming U17 runner, Emily Jones of Wharfedale Harriers.

The Barlick runners finished as follows:

5 Tim Chadwick 27:20
6 Jimmy Wright 27:33
7 Stephen Shorrock 28:08 (1st M40)
