Membership fees

Despite the name, the club participates in all disciplines of running, fell, cross country and road and welcomes applications from runners of all abilities to join us. If you are not sure if the club is for you, why not come to one of our training sessions or one of our regular pub runs. You will be under no obligation to join, but you will get a feel for the club and a better idea if the club is for you. You can merely turn up to a training session unannounced, but it would be better if you contacted our club secretary first (details on the contacts page) and let him know that you will be coming and he will make sure that whoever is leading the group will look out for you. If you are an absolute beginner to running, you too are most welcome to join us in one of our sessions, but please contact our secretary first and he will make sure that you will have a programme with which you are comfortable. Lee Parrington is one of our runners based in Carnforth and he made the shortish trip to Birkrigg in the South Lakes, for this Kendal Winter League Race. These races are similar to those organised by BOFRA in the summer and are often straightforward out and back races.  This one was straight to the trig  and back.  Former British Champ Tom Addison led the field home in 19.59. Lee had a good solid run finishing 9th in a time of 22.36.

Tom Corrigan and Chris Singleton have both been selected to run for Lancashire  in the inter counties cross country championships on March 12th.  Tom has improved beyond all recognition in this last year and has been rewarded for his hard work after his 16th place finish at the Lancashire Championships. Chris Singleton has had a great week following his international ultra vest.  He now has his second call up for Lancashire after representing the county on the fells last year.

This is a 6K run, a 16K Mountain Bike and then another 6K run.  Three Barlickers took part.

Matt Lalor was our sole representative in this race and won it by just under a minute.  The race is a partially marked, part navigation event.
