Quite a night for Barlick Fell Runners. Julian Hood comfortably won the race outright. We had 8 runners in the top twenty. We won the men's and women's team prizes, we had the 2nd woman and we had the first women V40. What more can we say other than the Barlickers finished as follows:

Not content with second place at Pinhaw on Friday night, Julian Hood who has been in good form recently, entered the Malhamdale 9 Mile Trail Race on Saturday. He duly went one better and ran out comfortable winner by 7 minutes.

Joshua Boyle continued his good form after winning the Scottish national under 17 title at the weekend in Ben Lomand, with another win at Mearley. On the way out Josh was pushing the pace with Darren Kay in hot pursuit and Sam Watson in 3rd. Josh opened a good lead by the climb and maintained it to the finish winning the race by over a minute. Sam Watson finished 2nd and Darren Kay held off John Whiteside of Trawden to take 3rd despite an injury to his foot. Nick Treitl was next Barlicker home finishing 5th and Andy Berry finished 12th, just missing out on the team prize to Wharfedale. Also running were, Jonathon Boothman, Glenn Whittaker, Pete Jackson and Richard Treitl. Afterwards everyone retired to the pub for the free pasta supper provided by the Calf's Head at Worston.

In the ladies race, Heidi Dent managed to hold off Victoria Wilkinson to take the honours. Leanne Dinsdale showed herself to be a glutton for punishment and following on from her race last night, she got up this morning and made her way over to Glossop for this English Championship race.

There was a record turn out for this race which saw over 200 runners take part. Danny Collinge of Clayton took the honours, finishing ahead of Julian Hood of Barlick and John Whteside of Trawden.
The ladies' race was won by Emma Taylor of Accrington Road Runners, ahead of Victoria Mousley of Blackburn and Autumn Howard of Trawden.
The men's first team was Barlick Fell Runners with Accrington Road Runners being the first women's team.
It was great to see 38 Barlickers taking part in this race, with several new members taking part in a race for the first time. Everyone completed the race, which was a credit to our newcomers. There were five Barlickers in the top ten and there were notable performances from Carl Pawson who was first M40 and from Angela Donlan, who is very much on form at the moment, who finished first W40 and Lorraine Slater who is making her way back from injury, who finished first W45
Dan was our only vest out at this race which was won by Rob James of Royton Road Runners in 16:18

It was once again another good night out for the club especially the juniors. Twelve months ago two juniors braced the start line, a year on and we have twenty-one juniors out racing! Its great to see the club going from strength to strength both in the junior and senior section. Harley Treitl once again had a strong run to finish first in the Under 10's.

In the senior race Jack Smith (Wharfedale) left the field behind to finish a good two minutes clear of the rest of the pack in 23:27. Carl Pawson led the Barlick runners home in 5th place and 1st M40. Paula Cullen took 3rd lady and 1st F35.
