Membership fees

Despite the name, the club participates in all disciplines of running, fell, cross country and road and welcomes applications from runners of all abilities to join us. If you are not sure if the club is for you, why not come to one of our training sessions or one of our regular pub runs. You will be under no obligation to join, but you will get a feel for the club and a better idea if the club is for you. You can merely turn up to a training session unannounced, but it would be better if you contacted our club secretary first (details on the contacts page) and let him know that you will be coming and he will make sure that whoever is leading the group will look out for you. If you are an absolute beginner to running, you too are most welcome to join us in one of our sessions, but please contact our secretary first and he will make sure that you will have a programme with which you are comfortable. Ted Mason of Wharfedale, running in his own back yard, won this race in a time of 15:03

24 Nicolas Kendal 19:36

A good atmosphere, a great route and a well organised race greeted the three Barlickers who turned out for this race.    Julian had a good run to finish in 4th place, as did Emma Bailey and only a windy second half stopped her missing her PB by 5 seconds.

4 Julian Hood 1:14:55
180 Emma Bailey 1:30:48
1550 Gary Bailey 2:26:36

The race was won by Mo Farah of Newham & Essex Beagles AC in 1:00:06.

1039 Paul Elcock 1:31:19
2144 John Boothman 1:37:28

Ilkley Junior Sprint Relays - 6 September 2017

Written by

Race Photographs by Dave Woodhead

This was a junior relay with teams split into younger (6 to 10 years) and older (11 to 14 years).

The Barlick older boys won the event outright, but only just, finishing seconds in front of the older mixed team.  The Barlick younger girls team also did well, coming home in second place and not all that far behind the winning team.  There were second places too for our older girls and a third place for our younger mixed team.  Our junior group did well in this competition and the team spirit that is growing within the group bodes well for the upcoming cross country season.

Ted Mason easily ran out the winner in this race in a time of 11:59 which was 44 seconds ahead of the second runner.  We only had one runner in this race.

28 John Boothman 16:11

72 ran.
