What a finish in the U11 boys race. It was neck and neck as Jacob Reeday and Sammy Pickerill of Southport raced towards the line, with Sammy just edging it by a fraction of a second. But what tremendous spirit showed by Jacob. That is what racing is all about.

This is an old fashioned fell race. There are separate races for the seniors and juniors, but they all run the same course and they all run it together.
The race was won by U17 Logan Hargreaves-Madhas. Jack Villiers had a good race to finish 5th overall.

This was a junior relay with teams split into younger (6 to 10 years) and older (11 to 14 years).
The Barlick older boys won the event outright, but only just, finishing seconds in front of the older mixed team. The Barlick younger girls team also did well, coming home in second place and not all that far behind the winning team. There were second places too for our older girls and a third place for our younger mixed team. Our junior group did well in this competition and the team spirit that is growing within the group bodes well for the upcoming cross country season.
A good run by Jacob Reeday saw him amongst the prize winners at these races by coming home in second place out of a field of 34.

Alongside the Riverside Half Marathon is a one mile fun run, which is open to anyone and everyone. Nine year old Maddison Parrington gave it a go and came away with first place with a time of 8:14.
A great effort was put in by our juniors in this series and they were rewarded by cleaning up at this presentation. Well done to everyone who took part.

It was two wins and a second for our juniors in these races, which is not a bad haul to say that we only had five runners taking part.
