Membership fees

Despite the name, the club participates in all disciplines of running, fell, cross country and road and welcomes applications from runners of all abilities to join us. If you are not sure if the club is for you, why not come to one of our training sessions or one of our regular pub runs. You will be under no obligation to join, but you will get a feel for the club and a better idea if the club is for you. You can merely turn up to a training session unannounced, but it would be better if you contacted our club secretary first (details on the contacts page) and let him know that you will be coming and he will make sure that whoever is leading the group will look out for you. If you are an absolute beginner to running, you too are most welcome to join us in one of our sessions, but please contact our secretary first and he will make sure that you will have a programme with which you are comfortable. There was a good turnout of Barlickers for this race which saw Danny Collinge return to form, take the lead and hold it to the end.  However, he was chased all the way by a train of Barlickers, Julian Hood, John Whiteside and David Mirfield, who were all competing fiercely with each other.  Such strong competition amongst those team mates closed out the opposition and Barlick came away with the men's team prize.  Andrew Chew also had a particularly good run to finish in 7th position, as did Andrew Carson who came home 12th.

Just as Danny Collinge dominated the men's race, Rachel Villiers dominated the ladies' race.  She took an early lead, kept her concentration and came home as 1st woman and 1st WV35.  It was good to see Jen Hird back racing and she has lost nothing in her time away as she demonstrated by coming home in 2nd place and 2nd WV35.  This set the scene for a possible ladies team prize, but where would our third counter be?  Fresh from her successes in the Three Peaks race and a couple of triathlons, Heather Driver, looking very determined, came through to make the third counter for Barlick and the ladies too, took the team prize.

Junior Club Fell Championships

These championships came to a halt during the covid epidemic, but now we have a new junior coach, we are hoping to revive them once numbers allow.

This was a bit of a different slant on fell running, with only uphill running.

10 Dan Mills 21:22

These races were unusual in that they were uphill only.  Jack Reeday demonstrated how good he is at ascending by coming home in second place behind Rowan Ashworth of Ambleside in the U11 race, where there were 66 finishers.
