Membership fees

Despite the name, the club participates in all disciplines of running, fell, cross country and road and welcomes applications from runners of all abilities to join us. If you are not sure if the club is for you, why not come to one of our training sessions or one of our regular pub runs. You will be under no obligation to join, but you will get a feel for the club and a better idea if the club is for you. You can merely turn up to a training session unannounced, but it would be better if you contacted our club secretary first (details on the contacts page) and let him know that you will be coming and he will make sure that whoever is leading the group will look out for you. If you are an absolute beginner to running, you too are most welcome to join us in one of our sessions, but please contact our secretary first and he will make sure that you will have a programme with which you are comfortable. This was the first serious test for Tom Corrigan since his recovery from injury and 7th place is a good result given the quality at the front of the field.

Lorraine Slater was back out on the terrain that she loves and had a great race, finishing 2nd female, behind the brilliant Holly Page of Calder Valley.  She was naturally first V40.

It was great to see our younger runners out in this race with Zac Kaye, Victoria Peel and Hannah Newbold all picking up podium places in their age categories.

7 Thomas Corrigan 57:04
20 Andy Berry 1:03:24 (3rd V40)
21 Lee Edwards 1:03:53
50 Lorraine Slater F40 1:09:18 (2nd Female, 1st FV40)
75 Gary Bradley 1:13:22
77 Paul Elcock 1:13:44
78 Zac Kaye M23 1:13:47 (3rd U23)

117 Hannah Newbold 1:23:13 (2nd FU23)
143 Karen Naylor 1:31:09

James Austin was on form at this event and smashed his previous PB by over 2 minutes.

16 James Austin 39:55
226 Sally Scothern 57:59 (3rd FV55)

Report from Ian:

Myself, Gary Shaw and Dan Taylor headed off to sunny Spain on our latest forage into Europe. Seville is a beautiful city with narrow rabbit warren like streets - think York but hot! The route was pretty non-descript as it skirted the outskirts of the city bar the last 10km which passed several landmarks and finished in the Olympic Stadium. Bit of a shock to come back to this cold weather after drinking beer and eating tapas in shorts and t-shirts.

113 Ian Livesey 2.39.44
694 Gary Shaw 2.58.45
955 Dan Taylor 3.03.10
