Membership fees

Despite the name, the club participates in all disciplines of running, fell, cross country and road and welcomes applications from runners of all abilities to join us. If you are not sure if the club is for you, why not come to one of our training sessions or one of our regular pub runs. You will be under no obligation to join, but you will get a feel for the club and a better idea if the club is for you. You can merely turn up to a training session unannounced, but it would be better if you contacted our club secretary first (details on the contacts page) and let him know that you will be coming and he will make sure that whoever is leading the group will look out for you. If you are an absolute beginner to running, you too are most welcome to join us in one of our sessions, but please contact our secretary first and he will make sure that you will have a programme with which you are comfortable. The winner of this race was Chris Miller from Harrogate.  The couple of Barlickers finished:

4 Julian Hood
16 Shaun Chew

The times will follow when available.

5 Dan Mills 40:59

Barlick dominated this race with Julian Hood winning the race out right and Rachel Villiers winning the ladies race.  In addition Barlick took several category first places.  Jamie Milligan injured his ankle and had to drop out and Heather Driver sacrificed her race to help him.  Eventually, he got a lift back to the start on the local farmer's quad bike. These are the provisional results.  200 started, 197 finished, 2 injured, 1 nurse Heather.
1 Julian Hood 37.58
4 Dave Mirfield 39.09
7 Andrew Chew 41.05 (1st MV 40)
12 Lucas Payne 12th 42.02 (1st MV 45)
14 Andy Berry 14th 42.06
15 Andrew Carson 42.18
21 Jimmy Wright 43.23
34 Rachel Villiers  44.56 (1st Lady)
37 Scott Boardman 45.15
39 Scott McCredie 45.25
48 John Boothman 46.55
100 Danny Butterworth 53.16
137 Cloey Mason 1.00.18
141 Jean Rawlinson 1.01.03 (1st FV 65)
175 Susan Hird 1.07.21 (f1st FV60)

A bit late with this one, but would you believe that it has taken this length of time for the results to appear.  Anyway, Chris Smale had a great race to finish in 2nd place, only thirty seconds behind race winner, Gaz Pemberton from Wharfedale.  Not bad for a V50.

For a change it was a lovely day for this race, with a clear blue sky greeting the runners at the start.  There were fewer runners than normal this year due to the Championship Race taking place at Tebay, but the closer friendly atmosphere was a useful reminder of how fell races used to be.
