Membership fees

Despite the name, the club participates in all disciplines of running, fell, cross country and road and welcomes applications from runners of all abilities to join us. If you are not sure if the club is for you, why not come to one of our training sessions or one of our regular pub runs. You will be under no obligation to join, but you will get a feel for the club and a better idea if the club is for you. You can merely turn up to a training session unannounced, but it would be better if you contacted our club secretary first (details on the contacts page) and let him know that you will be coming and he will make sure that whoever is leading the group will look out for you. If you are an absolute beginner to running, you too are most welcome to join us in one of our sessions, but please contact our secretary first and he will make sure that you will have a programme with which you are comfortable. Mid Lancs Cross Country League, Hyndburn - 16 January 2016

It was good to see some of our new youngsters out in these races.  For many, this was their first taste of racing and they can only get better.  Great performance from Eliot Phillps to finish in 9th place and lead the U11 boys team home.

It was a great performance too from our ladies.  New Barlicker Kelly Whiteside was leading them round with Jen Hird not far behind and Lorraine Slater not far behind those leading two.  However, showing some of that great Slater determination, Lorraine fought her way in front of the other two to lead them home and those three finished as a real team pack in consecutive positions, finishing third team out of all the divisions, but first in Division Three, ensuring promotion next season.

We had out a bit of a depleted men's team, but those who turned out did the business, finishing first team in Division Two and thus ensuring  promotion  next year to division one.The B team also did well, and are now leading Division Four.  The vets team are currently second in Division Four.
