Haworth Hobble - 11 March 2017

This race is a tough challenge.  At nearly 32 miles, it is longer than a marathon and in addition, there is nearly 4,400 feet of ascent.

It was perhaps no surprise that Tom Beebe led the Barlickers home.  He is good at these long races where you have to keep plodding on remorselessly on. Second home for Barlick was Lorraine Slater.  For her first venture in an ultra race, she did remarkably well.  She was 11th lady and first FV45.

Her time of just over 5 hours was very good and last year, with such a time, she would have been in the top two.  Trust Lorraine to pick a GB Trial for her first ultra race.  Third home for Bartlick was another running remorseless machine, John Boothman.

52 Tome Beebe 5:00:19
66 Lorraine Slater 5:09:59 (11th woman, 1st FV45)
81 John Boothman 5:19:05
